meebo.com, mabber.com, and gtalkr.com now have some serious competition. Even though they each have features that make them different, it will be increasingly difficult to justify using a different service than Google’s if you have a Gmail account.
Although this could seem as a relatively small change in Google’s service, I see this as a huge move in the instant messaging arena. It will be interesting to hear reactions to this over the next few days.
